BC History Diary is a website dedicated to uncovering and sharing the personal side of British Columbia’s past. Through transcribed letters, curated historical insights, behind-the-scenes stories from the archives, and thoughtful recommendations, the site brings local history to life—one document at a time.
Yes. All documents are authentic and come from the archives at the Agassis-Harrison Museum and Visitor Centre unless noted otherwise.
All other sources will be noted when applicable. Transcriptions are faithful to the originals, with minimal editing for readability when needed.

I also enjoy travelling around British Columbia and learning more about our history so that I can share it with my family.
Absolutely. I am the most interested in letter collections and diaries as it helps me to connect the best with the individuals and their time periods. I love to get inside their heads and imagine their daily lives.
